Answer

Who was Foster MacKenzie?   ANSWER: D: The actual name of a local rock legend MacKenzie, whose stage name was Root Boy Slim, was a provocative rocker and fixture on the Bethesda rock scene in the 1970s and ’80s. After being kicked out of Sidwell Friends School, MacKenzie went to Yale and then drove an ice cream truck in D.C. One day he climbed over the White House fence and was apprehended by Secret Service agents; he told them he was "looking for the center of universe." They hauled him off to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, a public psychiatric facility in the District. Root Boy Slim appeared regularly at the Psyche Delly in Bethesda and was best known for the song, “Boogie Til You Puke.”

About This Blog

Welcome to Rock This Frock, a styling and fashion blog brought to you by me, Justin Caldro.

I’ve been obsessed with fashion since I laid eyes on my first Vogue at the age of 12. I like my jewelry big and my heels high. Prior to relocating to the Bethesda area, I lived and worked in NYC and completed styling classes  at F.I.T. as a side project.

Look out for my frequent posts that will highlight my personal style (frocks and baubles I love), fashion advice, street style and a sprinkling of local fashion events.
