The Wood Acres community in Bethesda held its 58th Annual Fourth of July parade. This year's theme was "Make Wood Acres Great Again; But We Already Are!" The parade was led by Uncle Sam, a bagpiper and a Boy Scout color guard. Jim Lystad, the creator of the annual 4th grade production of “Wizard of Oz” at Wood Acres Elementary School, was the grand marshal and marched with 40 Wizard of Oz alumni. Music was provided by the Walt Whitman High School Drum line and the D.C. Patriotic Brass band. Over 500 people attend the community picnic, which included music by Laura Barton and Sean Chyun, both local residents.

State Senator Susan Lee, Delegate Marc Korman and Delegate Ariana Kelly marched in the parade.  Democratic candidate for the 8th Congressional District Jamie Raskin mingled at the community picnic.
