A Wider Circle hosts The Community Ball

400 attend event to help children and adults lift themselves out of poverty

A Wider Circle hosted The Community Ball on Saturday, October 13 at the Grand Hyatt Washington.  More than 400 people attended the event, which included dinner, dancing, and live music by the band Infusion.  Live and silent auctions featured such items as Redskins tickets and a four-minute shopping spree at Whole Foods Market.

A Wider Circle’s Founder and Executive Director, Dr. Mark Bergel, spoke both about the depth of poverty in this region and what is possible “when those with the greatest need become the greatest priority.”

The mission of A Wider Circle is to help children and adults lift themselves out of poverty.  Since its founding in 2001, A Wider Circle has served nearly 100,000 people, furnished more than 13,000 homes, and delivered more than 3,000 educational workshops.
