Center for Adoption Support and Education ( strengthens the well-being of foster and adoptive families, promotes adoption awareness and sensitivity, and develops the skills for professionals and families to empower children to thrive. The center’s Live, Learn, Lead Academy provides counseling, leadership development and life and job skills coaching to help older youths successfully transition from foster care.

What a donation buys:

• $300 covers a foster youth’s travel costs to work for a month.

• $1,000 assists peer support group activities for a year.

• $5,000 provides a mobile computer lab to improve youths’ skills and internet access.

Volunteer opportunities:

• Monthly: Be a guest speaker for workshops on topics including financial literacy, budgeting, job readiness, dress for success, interviewing and time management.
