Interfaith Works

Interfaith Works serves more than 30,000 county residents each year by providing shelter and services for the homeless, housing for individuals and families, clothing and household goods, referrals, mentoring, vocational services and emergency support for people in crisis. The nonsectarian interfaith coalition leverages the support of more than 7,000 volunteers and 165 congregations each year.

What a donation buys:

  • $250 provides emergency shelter, meals and case management for a homeless woman for one week.
  • $1,000 supports the distribution of clothing and home goods to families in need.
  • $10,000 houses a homeless family for 7+ months, providing professional case management and supportive services.

Volunteer opportunities: SSL

  • One day, weekly or monthly: Sort clothing and household goods at the clothing center; prepare and serve meals for shelter residents; mentor families with tutoring, job coaching or parenting skills; help clients gain employment; or provide administrative/professional services to the organization.
