From 1968 to 1969, Al Naar was a Navy medic serving with the 3rd Medical Battalion, 3rd Marine Division in Vietnam, assisting surgeons who operated on wounded marines. Naar will share his personal reflections of military medicine during the Vietnam War, highlighting new surgical procedures and practices that would shape how military medicine responded to later conflicts.
