Best Furniture Refinishing (Editors' Pick)

Upholstery Restoration & Select Fabrics

This family-owned shop has been bringing wood furniture back to life since 1988. Its client list includes the National Gallery of Art and the Embassies of Britain, Argentina and Greece, among others, for everything from minor repairs to complete antique restoration.

Co-owner Edward O’Brien IV opened the business 23 years ago with his parents, and today works with his mother, Beverly, and brother, David.

During the Clinton administration, the shop refinished 20 oak conference chairs for the White House (adding a special eagle patch on the back of the chair for the president).

All furniture refinishing is done at an adjacent facility.
