A “body” is discovered in a high school courtyard. Who will investigate the crime scene?

Try the students taking Forensic Science, a popular elective offered to juniors and seniors at 20 Montgomery County public high schools. Students learn about modern criminal investigative analysis, including toxicology, DNA analysis and how to take fingerprints.

“Kids get to see all of these fields of forensic science that they can get into,” says Sanford Herzon, who teaches the course at Thomas S. Wootton High School in Rockville.
