Best Salads

sweetgreen

A mecca for proponents of organic, locally sourced food and sustainable living, sweetgreen is not only a lifestyle destination—it has the best-tasting salads in Bethesda.

“That link between the source and the salad bowl is a lot of what makes it taste so good,” says co-owner Nicolas Jammet, 25.

The 2-year-old restaurant features salads such as Derby Cobb and Guacamole Greens, or customers can compose their own from more than 50 ingredients, including greens, vegetables, cheeses, proteins (such as tofu, chicken and bacon), “crunch” (nuts, wasabi peas and croutons) and dressings. For dessert, there’s frozen yogurt, a Best of Bethesda winner last year. Salad prices range from $6 to $10.50; yogurt is $4 to $6.

“If you’re a foodie, it’s really a good spot,” says customer Anne Coffey of Bethesda.
