Woodmont Grill

“What’s the most important part of your uniform?” General Manager Dan Bucher asks his wait staff. The answer—“a smile”—may sound corny, but the 14-year-old Woodmont Grill takes service seriously, with six days of training, including tests on wine, food and even the artwork on the walls.

Regular Alan Laskin of Bethesda loves the “friendly staff.”

Because he was slightly affected by a stroke, they discreetly cut up his steak for him. Now that’s service.
