Redwood Restaurant and Bar

A cobblestone courtyard, beautiful people sipping wine at café tables…“I feel like I’m in Paris,” says Jennifer Touchette, a Washington, D.C., resident who frequently dines outdoors at Redwood.

“Old World charm” is exactly what drew restaurateur Jared Rager, 37, to open Redwood here in 2008. (It was named Best New Restaurant by the magazine’s readers in 2009.) Capitalizing on its location along pedestrian-only Bethesda Lane, the patio seats 100; if you still can’t get a table outside, the towering windows, natural wood and stone décor bring the outdoors in.
