“Our classes are a great way to get kids started thinking about moving their bodies,” says Mandy Lemar, owner of 11-year-old My Gym in Potomac.
She bought the business in 2006 and recently opened a second location, across from Whole Foods on River Road in Bethesda. Her instructors guide children as young as 7 months through 13 years in an hour of fitness activities, including climbing and running, while entertaining them with music, bubbles and other fun.
Ryan Swift of Chevy Chase has 2-year-old twin boys who enjoy diving onto the padded equipment. “It’s structured, but it allows them to have independent explore time,” he says.
A weekly class costs $88 a month after a onetime membership fee of $75.
