Scott Thompson didn’t just want to meet the home health care standard when he started LifeMatters in 2005—he wanted to redefine it.
“My goal is to create the standard and constantly innovate,” says Thompson, 41, CEO of the Bethesda company and a Silver Spring resident.
LifeMatters specializes in caring for people with neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, with rates ranging from $20.50 an hour to $250 a day for live-in help. Before assigning a caregiver to a patient, LifeMatters has the family interview several candidates to ensure a proper match. “People want to know you took the time to find out specifically what their wants and needs are,” Thompson says.
Bess Lerner, 92, of Bethesda has relied on LifeMatters for two years. “Everyone [there] is interested in making life better,” she says.
