Best Park/Playground

Cabin John Regional Park

The expansive playground, with its colorful climbing equipment, tall slides, picnic tables and swings, is just a small part of Cabin John Regional Park’s appeal. The park also includes an ice-skating rink, indoor tennis courts, a miniature train that takes kids and adults on a 2-mile ride through the protected woods, a dog park, a nature center and 5 miles of hiking trails.

“We love the variety of activities here,” says Jocelyn Ulrich, a Potomac mother of two.

Her 3-year-old son Gus’ favorite? “The fast slides.”
