The Baked Bear is bringing its craft ice cream sandwiches to Pike & Rose in North Bethesda next month.

The shop will open at 929 Rose Ave. on May 19, according to the development.

With cookies and ice cream made in-house, The Baked Bear offers dollops of ice cream packed between cookies, brownies or donuts into a sandwich that’s hot pressed and served warm. It also sells sundaes, floats, and individual cookies and ice cream options.

The chain is based in San Diego and has about 20 locations, largely in California. This will be its first on the East Coast.

The dessert shop is the next planned opening for the North Bethesda development. Red Door Salon opened there last week after moving from Bethesda, and women’s clothing boutique Scout & Molly’s recently opened there and is scheduling a grand opening event on Saturday. The event will feature a ribbon cutting, refreshments and an opportunity to win giveaways.

Last month, the 117-room Canopy by Hilton hotel also opened in Pike & Rose.
