Spice 6, a local fast-casual chain serving Indian food, is expanding to Montgomery County with a spot in Westfield Montgomery mall.

The restaurant will open in the spring, Karla Saravia, a marketing manager for Westfield, wrote in an email. The news of the opening was first reported by local blogger Robert Dyer.

Spice 6 opened its first restaurant in Hyattsville in 2012 and also has a location in Vienna, Virginia.

The restaurant serves bowls, naan wraps, naan pizza, salads and kabob entrees, allowing customers to choose a protein, curries, chutneys and other sides.

The Spice 6 will be between Chipotle and Grill Kabob in the mall’s dining terrace.

Another hot pot stop for Rockville

Urban Hot Pot has opened in the Galvan complex near Twinbrook on Rockville Pike, local retail blog Store Reporter reports. The restaurant is the second in Rockville for the culinary style, which involves customers cooking their food in bowls of broth at their table.

Urban Hot Pot opened in December at 1800 Rockville Pike. It serves an all-you-can-eat menu for $16.99 at lunch and $25.99 at dinner. Options of meat, seafood, vegetables, noodles and other foods can be added to a choice of soup base.

Little Dipper, which has a similar style, opened in downtown Rockville in February.

Paisano’s headed to Silver Spring

Local pizza chain Paisano’s will be opening a restaurant in Silver Spring, at 8213 Georgia Avenue. Colleen Sisk, vice president of development for the Northern Virginia-based company, said the location would open in March.

It will be operated by the same franchise owner who manages the Rockville location, and will have the same setup as other Paisano’s restaurants but with an updated, contemporary look. The chain also has locations in Bethesda, Gaithersburg and Germantown.

Taylor Gourmet brings back burgers with its winter menu

Taylor Gourmet, a sandwich chain with locations in Bethesda and Silver Spring, brought back its winter menu this week, including a return of its SP Double Stack Burgers. Twitter users were excited to see the comeback, Eater DC reported.

The menu also features four seasonal hoagies, two new salads and risotto balls.
