Police Blotter: Sunglasses Thief Flees on Skateboard; House Burglary in Bethesda

Bethesda

Vehicle stolen and garage theft

A car was stolen from the 5400 block of Bradley Boulevard after a garage door was left unlocked and keys were left inside the car overnight on Jan. 1. Property also was taken from the garage. The car was recovered on Jan. 5.

House burglary

Property was taken from a house in the 10500 block of Westlake Drive between Dec. 14 and 28. There were no signs of forced entry.

Rockville

Commercial burglary

Chloe & Associates Financial Services at 15209 Frederick Road was broken into between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. Dec. 26. Cash and property were taken.

Thefts from vehicles

Charging cords, headphones, spare change and a mini tool set were stolen from several vehicles in the 500 block of Hungerford Drive overnight on Dec. 26. A charging cord and an iPod were stolen when several vehicles were entered in the 300 block of the same street the next night.

Several power tools were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 300 block of Dean Drive between Dec. 28 and 31.

Glasses theft

A man wearing a pink bedazzled hat stole two pairs of designer eyeglasses from a store in the 1000 block of Rockville Pike at about 10:30 a.m. Dec. 28. He then fled on a skateboard.

Stolen scuba gear

On Jan. 1, someone reported a piece of scuba equipment as stolen from a building in the 300 block of Hungerford Drive. It had been stolen sometime after Oct. 1.

Theft from roof

HVAC parts from a rooftop unit were stolen on the first block of Maryland Avenue between Dec. 31 and Jan. 6.

Apartment theft

Cash was stolen from an apartment in the 1000 block of Rockville Pike between Dec. 1 and 27. The means of entry is unknown.

Silver Spring

Thefts from vehicles

Cash and property were taken from multiple vehicles on Cameron Street, Wayne Avenue, Ritchie Avenue, Boundary Avenue, Silver Spring Avenue, Gist Avenue, Piney Branch Road and Georgia Avenue. Force was reported in multiple thefts.
