Updated: Pizza Delivery Driver Dies After Shooting in Burtonsville

County police found Rockville man in a vehicle with trauma to his body


Updated at 10:45 a.m. Monday: Montgomery County police are investigating the Monday night death of a Rockville man in Burtonsville as a homicide.

The man, who was a pizza delivery driver, was found with trauma to his body in a vehicle shortly after police received multiple calls for the sound of shots fired, according to a police press release. The vehicle was parked on Ballinger Drive at Autumn Glen Circle. Officers and rescue personnel responded to the area and attempted life-saving measures but the man died at the scene.

Police identified him as Francesco Michael Digiovanni, 45, of the 1000 block of Rockville Pike in Rockville.

The state medical examiner’s office in Baltimore is conducting an autopsy to determine the manner and cause of his death.
