Whitman Parents Asked To Aid Investigation Into Reported Underage Party

Owners of Bethesda rental property said partygoers wreaked havoc at their home

Montgomery County police are investigating a reported underage party that left a Bethesda home extensively damaged earlier this month.

Walt Whitman High School Principal Alan Goodwin wrote in a Tuesday online bulletin to Whitman families that a number of students had attended the party and asked parents to stay alert and involved.

“This serves as a reminder that we all must be forever vigilant as we guide teenagers through their high school years,” Goodwin wrote.

He also shared an email message from the owners of the rental home where the gathering took place. The property owners wrote that partygoers on July 1 broke windows, ripped doors off the hinges and kicked in walls.

The message also stated that teenagers posted about the party on social media and asked parents to share any knowledge of the incident with police.
