Teen Died After SUV Struck Him in Derwood

Hyundai hit 19-year-old on Shady Grove Road early Saturday morning


A Montgomery Village teen died after a car struck him on Shady Grove Road in Derwood early Saturday morning, according to police.

Jaumoithe Houseal, 19, of Welbeck Road, was hit by a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe at about 2:30 a.m. and taken to Suburban Hospital, police said. He died from his injuries there.

Police reported that the Santa Fe was traveling west on Shady Grove Road, near Crabbs Branch Way, when it struck Houseal.

The driver, Carlos Marco Montano, 50, of Carousel Court in Gaithersburg, remained on the scene and provided information to investigators, police said. No charges were filed.

Police are investigating the fatality and asked anyone with information to call 240-773-6620.
