Pike Kitchen to open in Rockville, serving mix of Asian cuisines

A new Asian food hall plans to open next summer on Rockville Pike, the Washington Business Journal reports. Pike Kitchen will open in the Edmonston Crossing shopping center in Rockville with food stalls serving Korean bibimbap, Hawaiian poke bowls, a Korean bakery, a bubble tea, Taiwanese bao buns, Vietnamese banh mi sandwiches, ramen, Thai street food and Korean fried chicken.

The 6,209-square-foot hall will have a shared kitchen and seating space, according to the Business Journal.

Food halls are a growing trend in the area, the Business Journal reports, with similar concepts in Union Market in D.C. and The Block in Annandale, Virginia. Mike Isabella, owner of Bethesda’s Kapnos Kouzina, plans to open his own food hall, Isabella Eatery, in Tysons.

Cava opens in Rockville

Cava, a Mediterranean fast-casual restaurant, has opened a new Rockville location on Shady Grove Road near the MOM’s Organic Market, local retail blog Store Reporter reports. There are also upcoming locations at Montrose Crossing shopping center in North Bethesda and the Cabin John Shopping Center in Potomac.

A local chain, Cava started in Rockville and now has more than 30 locations across the country, including Bethesda and Silver Spring.

Pandora offers bottomless brunch

From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the restaurant offers a $30-per-person brunch with $8 bottomless mimosas. The meal is $10 for kids younger than 12 and free for kids younger than 5.

The brunch options include raw oysters, snow crab legs, fried calamari, lobster omelets, lobster rolls, linguini and clams, and Pandora crab benedict.
