A school bus ran over the foot of a Richard Montgomery High School student on Thursday as she was crossing the road, a Montgomery County Public Schools spokesman said.

The incident at roughly 2:40 p.m. involved a 14-year-old girl and was “very minor,” a Rockville police spokesman said.

MCPS spokesman Derek Turner said the girl was running across the street between two buses when the tire rolled over her foot.

The student was taken to the hospital with injuries that weren’t life-threatening. Turner said Friday morning that he didn’t have an update on her condition.

The police spokesman said his agency was no longer involved in the situation.

Turner said the school system will go through its risk management process and check bus camera footage as part of the review.
