Police Blotter: Woman Assaulted by Contractor Working in Her Home; Six Cars Stolen in Rockville Area

Crimes reported to Montgomery County and Rockville police from Oct. 18-24




Strong-arm robbery at Cork and Fork

A man assaulted a female employee at the Cork and Fork wine store at 7110 Bethesda Lane at 2:20 p.m. Oct. 23. He stole merchandise.

House burglary

A burglary was reported at a house in the 5600 block of Midwood Road at about 11:40 p.m. Oct. 24. There were no signs of forced entry and nothing was taken. The door had been left unlocked.

Thefts from vehicle

Property was taken from a car in the 4900 block of Sentinel Drive overnight on Oct. 23. No force was reported.

Cash and property were taken from multiple cars on Durbin Road, Vernon Place, Honeywell Lane, Bristol Square Lane and Dudley Court between Oct. 19 and 21. No force was reported in any incidents.

Chevy Chase

Aggravated assault

A man in his 20s displayed a weapon in an aggravated assault in the 5400 block of Wisconsin Avenue at about 8:15 a.m. Oct. 24.

North Bethesda

Stolen car

A car that might have been left unlocked with the keys inside was stolen from the 10600 block of Pine Haven Terrace in the early morning Oct. 20. The car was recovered nearby that day.


Aggravated assault

A man who appeared to be about 45 displayed a weapon and assaulted another man near Montrose Parkway and Stonehenge Place at 9:21 p.m. Oct. 24.

Five stolen cars

A car was stolen at Drive & Go Auto Sales at 17 Fedor Ave. overnight on Oct. 16.

Another was stolen from the 14900 block of Dover Road overnight the next day. Police don’t know how either car was entered.

The day after that, overnight on Oct. 18, a car was stolen from the 5600 block of Pier Drive.

A car was also stolen from the 1000 block of Grand Champion Drive overnight on Oct. 19. No force was reported. The keys had been left inside.

A car was stolen from the 200 block of Blandford Street overnight on Oct. 20. Police don’t know how it was entered.


A contractor assaulted a woman when he was doing work at her home in the 2300 block of Veirs Mill Road between 1 and 1:30 p.m.

House burglary

Five guitars, a laptop and cash were stolen from a house in the 100 block of New Mark Espanade between 5:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Oct. 23. The burglar forced open a front door.

Silver Spring

Burglary at TW Perry

Someone broke into the TW Perry hardware store on 9015 Brookeville Road early on the morning of Oct. 21 and stole property.

Strong-arm robbery in taxi

Three teen boys assaulted a male taxi driver and stole cash in the 2100 block of Ellis Street at 4:53 p.m. Oct. 24. The teens appeared to be about 16 to 18.

Residential burglary

A man stole property from a house in the 2300 block of Kimball Place between 12:30 and 2:10 p.m. Oct. 24. A door had been left unlocked.
