Police Blotter: White Nationalist Fliers Found in Rockville; Four Teens Accused of Burglary at Thomas Pyle Middle School

Crimes reported to Montgomery County and Rockville police from Aug. 23 to 29




Residential burglary

Property was taken from a house on the 9400 block of Fernwood Road between 5 and 9 p.m. Aug. 28. There were no signs of forced entry. Two doors had been left unlocked.

Burglary at Thomas Pyle

Police arrested three teens in connection with a burglary at Thomas Pyle Middle School. The male teenagers—who were 14, 15 and 19, and all from Bethesda—allegedly stole property from the school on Wilson Lane in the early morning of Aug. 30. There were no signs of forced entry; a door had been left unlocked.

Thefts from vehicles

Cash and vehicle parts were taken from multiple cars parked on the 5100 block of Dudley Lane and the 7800 to 8000 blocks of Aberdeen Road. A forced break-in was reported in one incident.

A male burglar stole property from a car on the 4800 block of Rugby Avenue at about 11:15 a.m. on Aug. 25. The car had been left open and unattended.

Chevy Chase

Garage burglary

Property was taken from a garage on the 3300 block of Jones Bridge Road between Aug. 19 and 23. There were no signs of forced entry.

Home break-in

A house on the 9800 block of Connecticut Avenue was broken into in the early morning of Aug. 26. Nothing was taken.


Burglary at Asia Café

Asia Café, a restaurant at 703 First St., was broken into early on the morning of Aug. 23. Cash was taken.

Home break-in

Property was taken from a house on the 100 block of Stonepath Court between Aug. 25 and 28. Forced entry was reported.

Residential burglary

Property was stolen from a garage and a car at the same house on the 12100 block of Sheets Farm Road between Aug. 23 and 27. There were no signs of forced entry.

Fliers with hate writing

An unknown person left three fliers with hate writing around the 600 block of Great Falls Road between 3:15 and 4 p.m. Aug. 23. A Rockville detective said the fliers seemed to depict white nationalist propaganda.

Stolen car

A car was stolen from the 800 block of Hungerford Drive between Aug. 22 and 26.

Thefts from vehicles

Property and vehicle parts were stolen from three cars on Shady Grove Road, Frederick Road and Redland Boulevard between Aug. 21 and 24. No force was reported.

Multiple thefts from cars also occurred on Mount Prospect, Winesap and Quince Valley drives; Fellowship and Apricot lanes; Pissaro and Mosel terraces; and Golden Twig Court between Aug. 24 and 28. A forced entry was reported in one case.

Silver Spring

Burglary at Days Inn

Property was taken in a commercial burglary at the Days Inn at 8040 13th St. between 11 p.m. Aug. 25 and 3:30 a.m. Aug 26. There were no signs of forced entry.

Armed robbery

A man in his 20s displayed a weapon and took property from another man on the 2400 block of Seminary Road early in the morning of Aug. 30.

Thefts from vehicles

Cash and property were stolen from multiple cars parked on Cameron and Bonifant streets; Ellsworth and Park Crest drives; Hilltop Road; and Fidler Lane. Forced break-ins were reported in two incidents.
