Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Rockville

SUV hit man who was crossing Rockville Pike on Wednesday



A man crossing Rockville Pike on Wednesday night died after being hit by a northbound SUV, Montgomery County police said.

Police said in a press release that they are waiting to release the victim’s victim until the man’s family has been notified.

Montgomery County police, Rockville police, and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue workers were called to the scene at about 11:20 p.m.

The press release said Cupertino Unda, 83, of Germantown was driving a 2017 Nissan Armada that hit a man who was crossing Rockville Pike at Church Street.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at Suburban Hospital. Unda was not injured.

Police have asked anyone with information about the crash to call 240-773-6620.
