Officials Say Several People Taken to Hospital After Car Crash in Rockville

Multiple vehicles involved on Blandford Street near Mount Vernon Place

Several people were injured and taken to a local hospital after a crash involving multiple cars in Rockville just before noon Thursday, according to officials.

The crash happened in the 400 block of Blandford Street near Mount Vernon Place at about 11:45 a.m., Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service spokesman Pete Piringer posted on Twitter.

The crash involved several vehicles and at least one person was trapped in a vehicle, according to Piringer.

One patient was considered priority 2, part of a scale from one to three, with one being the most serious. Piringer wrote that “several” others were priority 3 and had injuries that were not life threatening.

The road is closed as emergency crews respond to the scene.
