New Year’s Eve Events in the Bethesda Area

Restaurants and venues that are hosting New Year’s Eve specials, parties and events

Alfio’s La Trattoria—4515 Willard Avenue, Chevy Chase

The Italian restaurant in Chevy Chase will have two shows of live jazz music with seats and meals available for $50 to $125. A dance party starts at 11 p.m. and goes until 2 a.m.

Bethesda Blues & Jazz Supper Club—7719 Wisconsin Ave., Bethesda

To kick off the new year, the Bethesda Blues & Jazz will host a performance of 18-piece ensemble Doc Scantlin & His Imperial Palms Orchestra. The event features a four-course dinner, hats, noisemakers, horns, party streamers and a champagne toast at midnight. Tickets are $75 to $150. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Caddies—4922 Cordell Ave., Bethesda

The Woodmont Triangle bar will be open with no cover and normal prices through the night, with live music from The New Thirty and drink specials. VIP tickets, available for $30, include two drink tickets, an appetizer buffet, a toast at midnight and access to a private area.

The Fillmore—8656 Colesville Road, Silver Spring

DCLA and D&T will host a New Year’s Eve showdown at The Fillmore. Tickets are $42 to $77. The show starts at 10 p.m.

iRock Karaoke Lounge—15964 Shady Grove Road, Gaithersburg

The Gaithersburg venue will be open for karaoke and serve complimentary champagne during the midnight countdown. iRock features seven private rooms and songs in several languages.

Jaleo—7271 Woodmont Ave., Bethesda

A special New Year’s Eve menu will be available at the tapas restaurant, as will an option for unlimited tapas for $90 per person. Live band Grupo Saoco will play from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m., and there will be a complimentary toast of cava, Spanish wine, at midnight, as well as 12 grapes for good luck.

Owen’s Ordinary—11820 Trade Street, North Bethesda

A “Steampunk Masquerade Ball” will take place New Year’s Eve at Owen’s Ordinary. Costumes are optional. Tickets for $79 to $99 include drinks, hors d’oeuvres and a toast at midnight.

Pandora—36 Maryland Avenue, Rockville

The new Rockville restaurant will have an open bar for four hours and a three-course dinner: an appetizer of lobster or snow crab, followed by lump crab cake, lavender duck breast or lobster linguini, and dessert. DJs will play music from decades’ past and contemporary hits. There will be a toast at midnight, and Pandora will close at 2 a.m.

Pinstripes—11920 Grand Park Ave., North Bethesda

Take advantage of bowling and bocce at the new Pike & Rose venue, which will also serve its regular menu with no cover charge. There will be live music and two balloon drops—one at 8 p.m. and another at midnight. Earlier in the day, Pinstripes will also host a “Noon Year’s Eve” party for kids, where families can enjoy two hours of bowling, party favors and a sparkling cider toast at noon for $10 per person.

Stella Barra—11825 Grand Park Ave., North Bethesda

The Pike & Rose restaurant will have a brunch buffet with Bloody Marys, Mimosas and Bellinis, as well as dinner starting at 2 p.m. On New Year’s Day, Stella Barra will have a pajama brunch buffet from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Tapp’d—4915 St. Elmo Ave., Bethesda

There’s no cover at the Bethesda bar, which will have DJs and dancing through the night, as well as party favors. There’s a special rate at the Bethesda Court Hotel.

Villain & Saint—7141 Wisconsin Ave., Bethesda

The Bethesda bar will be open for a New Year’s show by Lionize and guest Caustic Casanova. Tickets are $15 to $20.
